Chicago Bulls Face Injury Setbacks: Giddey, White, and Collins Out with Injuries

The Chicago Bulls have announced that three key rotation players will be out of action for a while due to injuries. Guard Josh Giddey will be reevaluated in two weeks with a strained left hamstring, while guard Coby White has right calf tightness and will be reevaluated in one week. Backup center Zach Collins will be reevaluated in 10 days with a sprained right toe.

Chicago Bulls Face Injury Setbacks: Giddey, White, and Collins Out with InjuriesGiddey and White’s Impact on the TeamBulls’ Current Standing and Outlook

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Giddey is expected to be out for at least a few weeks, which, combined with White’s injury, leaves the Bulls without their starting backcourt and two leading scorers for a stretch of five games in seven days. Both Giddey and White left Monday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with injuries, dealing a significant blow to the team’s lineup.

Giddey and White’s Impact on the Team

Giddey was in the midst of a career year, averaging 19.2 points, 9.0 assists, and 8.9 rebounds, all career bests. White was also averaging 19.2 points per game, on 45% shooting, and was working his way back into a groove after missing the start of the season with a calf strain suffered in August. The loss of these two players will undoubtedly be felt, and the Bulls will need to find ways to compensate for their absence.

Collins, who also missed the start of the season with a broken left wrist, returned for 10 games and was averaging 9.7 points and 5.6 rebounds. His injury is another setback for the team, which is already struggling with depth issues.

Bulls’ Current Standing and Outlook

The Bulls are currently 16-17 after Wednesday night’s win against the New Orleans Pelicans, having already registered a pair of five-game winning streaks and two separate five-game losing streaks during the 2025-26 season. The team will need to find a way to navigate this challenging period without their key players, and it remains to be seen how they will fare in the coming weeks.

As the Bulls move forward, they will be looking to other players to step up and fill the void left by Giddey, White, and Collins. The team’s coaching staff will need to get creative with their lineup and strategy to stay competitive in the absence of these key players. With a tough schedule ahead, the Bulls will need to dig deep and find a way to overcome these injuries and stay in the hunt for a playoff spot.
