T.J. Watt Set to Return to the Field After Recovering from Partially Collapsed Lung

Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt has announced that he is “excited to play” in the upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, after missing the past three games due to a partially collapsed lung. Watt, who has been recovering from the injury, expressed his confidence in his ability to play, stating that he feels “pretty good” and has had a great week of practice.

According to Watt, he was a full participant in practice on Friday for the first time since the injury and does not have an injury designation for Sunday’s game. When asked about the possibility of playing on a snap count, Watt replied that it was still too early to discuss, but he was feeling good and had no limitations during practice. Watt has had an impressive season so far, with seven sacks, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and 10 tackles for loss.

Recovery and Return to Practice

Watt detailed the situation that led to his hospitalization and surgery, explaining that he was in “significant” pain after a dry needling treatment at the team facility. He stated that he didn’t feel right after the treatment and was shortly afterwards in a significant amount of pain, which led to him being hospitalized and requiring surgery. Watt expressed his gratitude for the support he received from the team and his family during his recovery, which he described as “unique” and “different” from what he was used to.

Watt also mentioned that he has used dry needling in the past without any issues, but this time it was a “fluke thing, apparently.” He added that he won’t be doing any dry needling treatments anytime soon. The recovery process was challenging for Watt, as it was unlike anything he had experienced before, and he had to navigate new feelings and a surgery he wasn’t familiar with.

Motivation and Priority

With the Steelers competing for a playoff berth in the regular-season finale, Watt stated that returning for this game was a priority for him. He expressed his excitement to play in front of Steeler Nation and leave everything on the field. Watt’s motivation is evident, and his return to the field is a significant boost to the team’s chances of winning.

As the Steelers prepare to face the Ravens, Watt’s presence on the field will be crucial. His experience, expertise, and athleticism will be invaluable in the team’s bid to secure a playoff spot. With Watt’s return, the Steelers are poised to make a strong push for the playoffs, and his performance on Sunday will be closely watched by fans and pundits alike.
