Jack Doohan Leaves Alpine Team to Pursue New Opportunities

As of January 13, 2026, Jack Doohan has officially parted ways with the Alpine team, as confirmed by the Formula 1 outfit. This decision comes after Doohan’s demotion in 2025, which saw him replaced by Franco Colapinto after just six races in the 2024 season.

Doohan, who was the first Alpine graduate to make it to F1 when he debuted at the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, will now be exploring other career opportunities. According to a statement released by Alpine, the team has reached a mutual agreement with Doohan to part ways, allowing him to pursue new paths.

Future Plans and Career Prospects

While Doohan’s next move is not yet confirmed, there are speculations that he might consider a career in Super Formula. However, this possibility is uncertain due to a recent incident where he crashed three times at the same corner during a test at Suzuka. As reported by various sources, including ESPN, Doohan’s performance in the test has raised questions about his potential in the Super Formula series.

In a statement, Alpine expressed their gratitude towards Doohan for his commitment and professionalism during his time with the team. “BWT Alpine Formula One Team confirms it has reached a mutual agreement with Jack Doohan to not continue his driving services with the team for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship season and allow him to pursue other career opportunities,” the statement read. “The team would like to thank Jack for his commitment and professionalism to the team for the past four years, both on and off track, and wishes him all the best for the future.”

Expert Insights and Analysis

According to experts in the field, Doohan’s departure from Alpine is not entirely unexpected, given his performance in the 2024 season. As noted by Formula 1 analysts, Doohan’s demotion and subsequent departure from the team may be seen as an opportunity for him to regroup and reassess his career goals. With his experience and skills, Doohan may still have a promising future in the world of motorsports, albeit potentially in a different capacity or series.
