Bills Win Thrilling Playoff Game Against Jaguars

The Buffalo Bills have emerged victorious in a nail-biting playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with a final score of 27-24. The game, which took place on January 11, 2026, at 04:16 PM ET in Jacksonville, Florida, saw the Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen lead his team to a thrilling comeback win.

Down by four points with just over four minutes remaining in the game, Allen launched a 36-yard pass to wide receiver Brandin Cooks, setting up the game-winning score. The quarterback then punched the ball into the end zone on the following play, with the Jaguars allowing him to score. The Bills’ defense did its job to preserve the win, with cornerback Tre’Davious White tipping a Trevor Lawrence pass and safety Cole Bishop coming away with the game-ending interception.

Allen’s performance was impressive, despite being banged up in the first half and requiring two trips to the medical tent, including one for a concussion test. He completed 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards, with one passing touchdown and two rushing touchdowns. Wide receiver Khalil Shakir was his security blanket, catching all 12 of his targets for 82 yards.

Key Statistics and Trends

The Bills are now 19-0 when leading at halftime since the start of the 2024 season, including playoffs. This win also broke a streak of eight consecutive road playoff losses for the franchise. The team’s defense has been a key factor in their success, particularly in the second half of games. However, against the Jaguars, the defense struggled, allowing scores on the Jaguars’ first three drives of the second half.

Injuries have been a concern for the Bills this season, and Allen was not immune to this trend. The team lost significant players, including safety Jordan Poyer, who did not return after halftime due to a hamstring injury, and wide receiver Gabe Davis, who was carted off the field with a left knee injury.

Jaguars’ Season Ends with Heartbreak

The Jaguars’ season ended with a heartbreaking loss at home, but there is optimism that the franchise will be a consistent playoff contender. The team won 13 games, including an eight-game winning streak to end the regular season and secure the AFC South title. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence had the best season of his career, with 38 total touchdowns and over 4,000 yards passing.

Lawrence had an up-and-down day, throwing a first-half interception and coming up short on a fourth-down rush inside the Bills’ 10-yard line. However, he rebounded in the second half with two touchdowns, including one to Travis Etienne Jr. with 4:03 remaining. The game was sealed with a Lawrence interception with less than a minute to play in the fourth quarter.

The Jaguars’ run game was a key factor in the first half, with the team running the ball 11 times for 99 yards. However, they threw the ball 15 times in the first half, which ended with them trailing 10-7. The turning point of the game came when the Jaguars allowed the Bills to move into scoring position on their final drive, with Allen hooking up with Cooks for a 36-yard reception to the Jaguars’ 20-yard line just before the two-minute warning.

The Bills’ win was a testament to their resilience and determination, and they will look to carry this momentum into their next game. The Jaguars, on the other hand, will regroup and look to build on their successful season, with optimism that they will be a consistent playoff contender in the years to come.
