Formula 1 Dominance: A Look at the Countries with the Most Champions
The world of Formula 1 has been graced with exceptional talent from around the globe, with some countries producing more champions than others. The United Kingdom has been a dominant force in the sport, thanks in large part to the incredible career of Lewis Hamilton, who has won seven World Drivers’ Championships. Although it’s been a few years since a British driver has claimed the top spot, with Hamilton’s last win in 2020, the UK remains a powerhouse in F1.
As the 2025 season comes to a close, there’s a possibility that the championship could be shaken up. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri is in contention to become the first Australian winner in 45 years, since Alan Jones’ victory in 1980. However, he’ll need some help to achieve this feat. Meanwhile, his teammate Lando Norris could secure his first driver’s title and bring the UK’s total to 21 championships.
