UEFA Women’s Champions League: Final Matchday of League Phase Approaches

The UEFA Women’s Champions League is nearing the end of its new-look league phase, with all nine games of the final matchday set to kick off on December 17 at 3 p.m. ET (8 p.m. GMT). The 18 teams have been competing since early October, and the standings are starting to take shape. The top four teams in the league-phase table will advance directly to the two-legged quarterfinals, while the teams in positions 5-12 will enter the knockout-phase playoffs.

Qualification and Knockout Draw

The top four teams in the league-phase table will earn a spot in the quarterfinals, while the teams in positions 5-12 will compete in the knockout-phase playoffs. The playoffs will feature four ties, with the winners advancing to the quarterfinals. The quarterfinals will be played on March 24 and April 1, with the semifinals following on April 24-26 and May 1-3. The final will take place on May 22 or 23 at Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo, Norway.

Current Standings and Remaining Fixtures

The current standings show Barcelona and OL Lyonnes leading the way, with 13 points each. Chelsea, Juventus, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, VfL Wolfsburg, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Paris FC have all secured a spot in the knockout-phase playoffs. Atlético Madrid is likely to join them, while OH Leuven is favored to claim the final playoff spot. The remaining fixtures will determine the final standings and playoff matchups.
